Join us on this festive overnight break as we visit Castle Howard, the ancestral home of the Howard family in all its festive glory. This historic house is transformed by towering Christmas trees, roaring fires, and twinkling candles at Christmas time. On Friday we visit the city of York, a Christmas shopping heaven with its eclectic mix of shops as well as wonderful Christmas market.

Depart for Castle Howard
We depart our local area for Castle Howard, an 18th century residence set within 1,000 acres of breath-taking landscape in the heart of North Yorkshire. The house will be exquisitely dressed with a Christmas theme and the iconic 25 ft Christmas tree will be a highlight in the Great Hall. Complete your Christmas shopping with seasonal gifts available in the gift shop, farm shop and garden centre. We depart late afternoon and make the short journey to Huby, for overnight half board accommodation at the Burn Hall Hotel.

York & Return Home
This morning we make our way to York where the historic streets come alive during the wonderful festive season. Soak up the city’s medieval charm and scents of spiced mulled wine as you discover the delights of the iconic St Nicholas Fair, with stalls full of unique gifts and mouth-watering foods. Explore the distinctive stores and bustling atmosphere of the Shambles. We depart late afternoon and head back to our local area, arrriving home mid evening.
