To coincide with the annual Yorkshire Day celebration, we have put together this short break to celebrate all things Yorkshire. Join us as we take you on a journey through ‘God's Own County’ taking in the sublime scenery and the welcoming market towns of Ilkley, Knaresbrough and Hebden Bridge. We also visit York Minster and the Piece Hall. Our accommodation is top class and will feature a Yorkshire themed evening meal and after-dinner quiz.

Yorkshire Day in Ilkley & Knaresbrough

It is Yorkshire Day! We depart our local area and travel to Ilkley, home to the unofficial Yorkshire anthem ‘On Ilkla Moor Baht ‘at’. The town is joint host of today’s civic celebration showcasing the food, music, and culture of Yorkshire! Later we take a scenic drive through the Nidd valley to the pretty market town of Knaresbrough before continuing to the outskirts of Leeds for 2 nights half board accommodation at the Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa. This evening we enjoy a Yorkshire themed dinner, followed by a quiz.

York Minster Tour & Free Time

This morning we include a visit and tour of the fascinating York Minster, a medieval masterpiece in stained glass and stone. Discover its Roman roots and the part it played in Viking York. Later enjoy free time to explore all this historic city has to offer, whether it be a relaxing river cruise or interesting museum visit.

Return Home via Piece Hall & Hebden Bridge

We round up our Yorkshire weekend with a visit to the impressive Piece Hall in Halifax. This 18th century former cloth trading hall has been beautifully conserved and now includes cafes, bars, and independent stores. We continue our journey home via the pretty town of Hebden Bridge and arrive into our local area late afternoon.
