For nearly three hundred years the cathedral cities of Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester have taken it in turn to host an annual 'music meeting'. The 2020 festival takes place in the spectacular Worcester Cathedral and we are pleased to have secured top price tickets to experience this magical event.
The 4 star Hallmark Stourport Manor is a country house hotel set within 23 acres of grounds near Kidderminster. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, tea making facilities and Wi-Fi. The public areas include spacious, attractive lounges for relaxing in comfort and luxury. The Brasserie restaurant overlooks the garden and provides a choice of cuisine. There is a health and leisure club with heated indoor swimming pool, spa and sauna and gym. There is no lift.
We travel south to Shakespeare's Stratford, on the banks of the River Avon, where you will have time to discover 'the bards' hometown. We continue to Stourport for 2 nights half board accommodation at the Hallmark Stourport Manor Hotel.
This morning we take a ride on the Severn Valley Railway before heading to Bridgnorth. There will be free time to explore before we return to our hotel for an early dinner and then travel to Worcester for the highlight of our tour - 'The Three Choirs Festival Finale'. With the theme of 'Voyages' this year, sit back and enjoy a performance of Vaughan Williams 'Songs of Travel' and Beethoven's 'Calm Sea & Prosperous Voyage', in his 250th anniversary year.
We depart for home, calling at Trentham Gardens & Shopping Village en route before arriving into our local area late afternoon.
