A great value, early Spring break with impressive scenery and the chance to view snowdrops at an historic Scottish Castle. Our hotel is a Bibby's favourite... the Winnock, a former coaching inn. It offers cosy lounges with open log fires, a restaurant and lounge bar and is the perfect venue for a relaxing break.
The 3 star Winnock Hotel in Drymen, takes centre stage on the village green. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities and Wi-Fi. There is no lift, but all rooms are located on the ground and first floor.
We travel to Glasgow for free time before continuing to Drymen for 3 nights 'All Inclusive' accommodation at the Winnock Hotel.
We visit Duntreath Castle, where Sir Archie and Lady Edmonstone will show us around their home. After included tea and cakes we explore the 16th Century Keep and gardens, with its swathes of pretty snowdrops.
Scottish scenery as we take a drive, via Aberfoyle and the Duke's Pass, to Loch Katrine. After an included soup & sandwich lunch at the Brenachoile Restaurant, we continue to Killin and the Falls of Dochart.
We travel to Dawyck Botanic Garden, one of the world's finest arboreta. It features an award-winning visitor centre, heritage trees, burnside walks and magnificent snowdrops that carpet the banks of the Scrape Burn. Arrive home early evening.
