Based in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, this new tour offers highland scenery and some fantastic Scottish highlights including Ballindalloch Castle, Glenfiddich Distillery tour, and a journey on the Strathspey Steam Railway. Our accommodation is the Grant Arms Hotel, in the centre of Grantown-on-Spey.
The 4 star Grant Arms Hotel is a traditional stone-built building in Grantown-on-Spey. The recently refurbished restaurant serves locally sourced produce in cosy surroundings. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. There is a lift.
We travel through the borders and highlands, arriving at the Grant Arms Hotel for 4 nights half board accommodation.
We visit Ballindalloch Castle, a fine example of a Scottish Baronial castle, complete with beautiful walled gardens. Later we continue to the Glenfiddiich Distillery at Dufftown for a guided tour and 3 whisky tastings.
We head to Inverness. Explore the castle set on the banks of the River Ness and St Andrews Cathedral in the old town. We return via the town of Nairn, with its sandy beach and views over the Moray Firth.
We travel to Broomhill for our journey to Aviemore, aboard the Strathspey Steam Railway. Take in the breath-taking scenery of the Cairngorms as you steam through the highland countryside.
We journey home, arriving into the local area late afternoon.
